Napoli Smack Salernitana To Go Ahead of Milan Juventus

AC Milan lost ground to the leader of the standings, Inter Milan and also lost another important player before the Derby, when he drew with a 0-0 against Juventus Turin in San Siro on Sunday.

Zlatan Ibrahimović limped off in the 28th minute with an apparent Achilles problem. The 40-year-old Ibrahimović is likely to join several other regulars on the wounds list.

Milan slipped to third place in Serie A under Napoli on goal difference. Head-to-head is the first tie break at the end of the season. Milan is four points behind Inter, having played another match, and will meet the Nerazzurri in his next match after the break.

Salernitana got stuck at the bottom of the table, with eight safety points.

SUPER SIGNATURE

New signing Sérgio Oliveira scored his second goal in as many league games for Roma to win it 4-2 in Empoli.

Tammy Abraham scored twice and Nicolò Zaniolo also scored for Roma, who scored his last three goals in four minutes in the first half.

José Mourinho’s Roma finished in sixth place, ahead of Lazio and Fiorentina.

The former striker of Cagliari, Riccardo Sottil, scored a 1-1 draw for Fiorentina against his former club.

Sottil scored in the 75th, 10 minutes after Alvaro Odriozola was sent off for handball. João Pedro had scored for Cagliari at the beginning of the second half.

Both teams had saved penalties as well.

Cagliari remained 18th, but moved to a safe point. Spezia moved to eight points above the drop zone after smacking 10 men Sampdoria 1-0 in a relegation action. Turin shot 1-1 with Sassuolo.
